Overview
- Exercise I. You will review a slide show of 13 different types of fungus. Using the original lab manual and the provided PowerPoint, you will classify each protist to the appropriate taxonomic level. Your results will be recorded in the table provided in the Post-Lab.
- Exercise II. You will identify special morphological and life history characteristics of each type of fungus and record your answers in the table provided in the Post-Lab. Videos provided will help out!
- Exercise III. You will hunt for fungi and fungus-based products. You will identify each to the appropriate taxonomic level as best as you are able.
Before you begin! Open the Fungi Post-Lab
Follow the directions in each exercise closely so you know what to put in your Post-Lab to receive full credit for this online activity.
*Please note that your responses for Exercise I & II will all be placed in one large table in the Post-Lab.
The library below depicts images of various fungi discussed in your lab manual and in the accompanying PowerPoint. Some are microscopic.

FUNgi Scavenger Hunt: Stay in and go out! Find some fungus among us...
In Exercise III. you are asked to find 4 different types of fungi (mushrooms, molds, lichens, etc.) and 4 different fungal products (things made from fungi including mold and yeast fermentation). Take a selfie with each "find" and paste them into your Post-Lab. Identify the fungus in each picture as well.
